The ISSUE N°6

This week: Everyday life at Work... and how I finally got my list done.

Hello, and welcome back to The Issue.

(If you’re short on time, grab your free Daily S.H.E.³ Planner here. It's the reason this email exists.)

Let's talk about the planner pile. You know the one. I bought most of them. I paid for the time management courses, and lawd only knows what else I threw money at trying to close the circle on my list.

Here's what none of them mentioned. Focus is a moving target. Mine wanders off most days without leaving a note.

Charming when you're daydreaming. Less charming when you're building something.

A couple of weeks into The Issue, I stopped buying solutions and built one. Something simple. Something I'd actually use. I'd noticed how much daylight I was burning every time I had to start over.

Funny thing is, making things was never the problem. There's a Guide to Summer on Amazon. A Five Minute Style system that builds outfits around your plans, your style vibe, and even the weather. A Fall bundle that pairs the Guide to Fall and its companion guide with that same Five Minute Style system.

I also try to make you a little tool every week, like the Fall Trend Finder quiz from N°4. Six quick questions, one fall look.

The problem? "Tell people about it" never made my list. Consider this me checking it off✅

This week's tool is the one I actually use.

Meet the Daily S.H.E.³ Planner. The idea is simple: keep your top priorities in front of you, watch your progress, and celebrate when you finish. I'm using it right now. I set a Quick Change (a ten minute sprint, like a quick outfit change) to stop procrastinating and write this email, and you're reading the result.

It's free for you because you get The Issue. 🙌

How it works

  1. Get Ready. Focused and relaxed beats anxious and annoyed, every time.

  2. The S.H.E.³ Pick your top three. Three, not twelve.

  3. Make It Work. Track it and celebrate. A checkmark counts.

Work is an Everyday thing

Most of us were raised to work hard, keep our heads down, and be grateful for the job. Nobody mentioned that the room you work in, and who's in it with you, has more to do with your success and happiness than any of that.

Happiness in FashionSHEsta rests on three things: Mindset, Relationships, and Routines. All three clock in with you. Mindset decides how you walk in. Relationships decide who walks in with you. Routines decide whether the good stuff happens on purpose or by accident.

S.H.E. says

Style: Make your desk a place you want to be. Mine holds a couple of photos of my favorite people, my grandmother's crystal candy dish, and a candle in whatever scent I'm in the mood for that week. A few small touches, and the whole space feels different.

Happiness: Choose your coworkers, even if you work alone. Some days I clock in with Sara Blakely or Tony Robbins, or one of my other YouTube besties, to get the mindset and momentum going. Pick yours before you open your inbox.

Everyday: Keep it fresh. Office, kitchen table, or minding the grandkids, it's all work. Swap the candle, move the photo, try a new playlist. Small changes make the whole day run smoother.

Thank you for reading all the way to the end. I appreciate you.

Next week, we're on to Style and Essentials. It's one of my favorites.

Missed last week? We talked about Relationships and that name on your call list that's been collecting dust. You're not the only one. Read it here
